MCompassRAG is a metadata-guided retrieval framework that uses topic-level signals as a semantic compass for paragraph-level RAG. It enriches chunks with topic metadata and trains a lightweight retriever through LLM-teacher distillation, enabling topic-aware retrieval at inference time.
